Global Automotive Marketing Awards judging criteria and entry instructions:
Automotive News and Ad Age reserve the right to withhold or add awards as the quality of submissions dictates. If during the review process the judges feel your entry is better suited to another category and would like to award you in that category, the judges have the right to move your entry.
BEST IN SHOW
A single campaign will be chosen as Best in Show from the winners of the campaign categories. Judges will select the honoree that best demonstrates innovation, creativity and business impact in automotive marketing.
Entrants do not need to enter Best in Show separately or pay an additional fee; all submissions will be eligible for Best in Show.
FAQs
Campaigns do not have to be created in-house by the auto company; they can be entered by an advertising agency or external partner that helped create the work.
We only ask that work entered was created and produced for a real company and ran in a media environment. Please do not enter work that was created only to run in award shows. If judges raise any flags, we will be following up and we’ll disqualify bogus work (e.g. work not approved by a client, work done for a client you don’t have, ads that were run once, at 3 a.m. in an obscure place, so they would be eligible to enter awards, etc.).
Campaigns must have run between Jan. 1, 2023, and July 1, 2024.
Business results can include basic ad metrics like awareness or recall, but entrants will get further if submissions demonstrate success through other KPIs such as sales and market share.
The entry portal requires all direct uploads (photos, videos or other files) to be 2GB or less. For anything larger, please supply a link. NOTE: Embedded hyperlinks are not supported within the portal. If you would like to link to a website, please include the full URL.
Please note changes cannot be made once the final deadline has passed and judging has started.
IMPORTANT INFO
Eligibility
Entry is open to a variety of companies in the automotive space, including but not limited to, automakers, mobility providers and auto retailers. Campaigns do not have to be created in-house by the auto company; they can be entered by an advertising agency or external partner that helped create the work.
Dates for submitted work
All work must have debuted and run between Jan. 1, 2023 and July 1, 2024 to be eligible. If you are submitting work that is an update or continuation of a previous campaign, please note that only the work that debuted during the aforementioned time period will be judged, not the campaign as a whole. All work submitted that debuted outside of the eligibility window will not be judged. Please be clear in the entry about which pieces of work debuted during the eligible time period.
Entry info
All information included should be publishable by the time the winners are announced in December 2024. Any information noted as “not for public” or “off the record” will not factor into the judges’ evaluation.
If during the review process the judges feel your entry is better suited to another category and would like to award you in that category, the judges have the right to move your entry. Please note that all awards are based on the quality of the entries received each year. If the judges feel there isn’t a fitting entry within a specific category, they have the right to not award that category.
